RPD Replacement Filters for CRT Systems
KleenAir Systems Ltd. silicon carbide diesel particulate filters are fully RPD approved by the VCA. The replacement filter provides an optimized solution for virtually all applications and regeneration strategies. The filter is supplied with a 50gms / cu ft. catalytic coating.

The KleenAir Silicon Carbide filter
KleenAir Systems offers honeycomb structured Diesel Particulate Filters (DPF) made of Silicon Carbide (SiC) used for soot filtration in diesel engine exhaust. The filter has a very high soot load capacity and the regeneration is not sensitive to maximum soot load and/or an uneven distribution of the soot.
The highly durable filter is available in a 90 cell density, most often used for filter systems with a passive regeneration strategy where the filter may encounter very high soot loads before regeneration takes place. The system offers superior filtration efficiency of 99.8% of particulate matter (PM) and ultrafines.

Functionality and Durability
A KleenAir filter and a competitor filter with a similar cell density were loaded with soot using an HD diesel engine. The KleenAir filter exhibits less pressure drop at all soot loading levels.

The outstanding durability of the filter is seen from the very modest increase in peak temperature during regeneration compared to the competing Cordierite filter. The superior thermal conductivity of the Silicon Carbide filter ensures a perfect distribution of the energy thereby avoiding hot spots and high gradients in the structure that lead to failure as seen in competing Cordierite filters.

The filter comes complete with a specially formulated Platinum based catalyst coating. This has been specially developed for this application by BASF and provides high temperature durability and longevity. In all cases where the CRT is over 3 years old, we would very strongly recommend utilising this coated SiC to offset any degradation of the performance of the integral Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC).
